VS1005G-Q and VS1005G-F-Q

Hi Vlsi team!

just a little question: which is the difference between these models VS1005G-Q and VS1005G-F-Q?

To develop our product we need the same chip of the breakout board, which of them is it?

Many thanks
Enzo

Re: Noise on recorded files

Hi Henrik,

the difference between the old version and the new one is very appreciable.

Nevertheless using the developer board I still get some noise. Which sound input line are you using to achieve a so clean sound?

Kind regards
Enzo

Re: Noise on recorded files

Hi Panu,

I attach an Mp3 recorded in the same condition and two files 24 Khz one per format, just to show you the difference. They are recorded in italian, but I think that it is not a problem to evaluate the sound.

Kind regards
Enzo

Re: Noise on recorded files

Hello Panu, with Mp3 the sound is better and it works fine with all the channel configurations and with all the available bit rates. Really it is possible to hear a little ambient noise in Mp3 files too, but less than Ogg (if you want I can provide you samples). I have to try with a different input ...

Re: SimpleMp3Player issue

Hi Henrik, sorry for late response, I was out of office. Thank you for the investigation. When you will be ready with new library version we will test it; anyway we tested dropping and loading the library being safe also for several consecutive days, so the temporary fix is good enaugh. Kind regards...

Noise on recorded files

Hi VLSI Staff, I am trying to record with VS1005G Developer Board 1.7 with VSOS 3.22 and I have got some problems. The program I am using is SimpleOggEncoder, with some little modification, such as unblocking the define USE_MIC_INPUTS, and increasing a little bit the gain with #define AMPLIFY_SIGNAL...

Re: SimpleMp3Encoder issue

Hi Henrik,

sorry, you're right, I meant the encoder. Anyway dropping and loading again the encoder library it seems to be solved.

Many thanks, however

SimpleMp3Player issue

Hi VLSI Staff, I want to signal you an issue occurred using SimpleMp3Player, when not defined USE_MP3, i.e. used for ogg encoding. When I try to press Next button in order to close current file and start a new one, the program blocks. Inserting some control message I see that the program is not able...
