VSMD001 - Read an auxiliary file

Dear staff: I am working with the VS1000 audio module and, in addition to playing audio, I need to read a binary file synchronized with it. The concept is, for example: while playing 001.OGG, every 10 ms reads sequentially a byte of 001.BIN and put it on GPIO0. With 002.OGG, read 002.BIN and so on. ...

Re: VSMD001 - Amazing

Ah, OK, now is very clear. One more question: where do I post hardware doubts (always referring to the VSMD001)? It would be great if there was a forum dedicated to the module exclusively.

Thanks, Pasi :D

Re: VSMD001 - Amazing

Dear Pasi:
I thought that since the vs1000 decodes audio under my orders, it was therefore a "slave decoder".
Besides, in this forum there are many questions about the VS1000 and the VSMD001, and that's why I thought this was the right place. My apologies.

Regards,
Juan

VSMD001 - Amazing

Dear VLSI staff, This is only to comment on the excellent results that I have obtained with the "association" between VLSI with its chips and Xiph Foundation with its Ogg Vorbis format. I was doing some tests with the VSMD001, and after clarifying some initial doubts, everything worked "without fric...

Relationship between name and file number

Dear VLSI staff, A couple of days ago I bought seven VS1000 audio modules and already made some changes to the firmware. It works very, very well :D . I am very interested in being able to play the files by number and not by name, and at the same time use the GAPLESS option. All in order to simplify...

Re: SPI flash not fully recognized

Hi pasi, thanks for your quick response. I have read that the VS1000 does not have internal memory, but uses either the SD card or the SPI flash for program and content. So what happens when formatting the SPI flash? Should I also reprogram the firmware? If the firmware controls the UART and formatt...

SPI flash not fully recognized

Dear VLSI people, This is my first time with the VS1000 audio module. I just bought seven of them with 16 MB of flash, but on the PC, via USB, it only recognizes 2 MB. The modules have firmware v0.72-uart, and the PC is Windows 7. A partition manager recognizes all 16 MB on the same machine. How can...
