Re: VS1053 - Noise when connected to a Class D amplifier

Hi Pasi, thanks again for your help. I've already read the post you refer, the kind of noise I have is different, is more random clicking, not a constant sound, nevertheless I think it is worth to try some changes in the way I'm making the tests to see if it is possible to go to the root of the prob...

Re: VS1053 - Noise when connected to a Class D amplifier

Hi Pasi, thanks for your reply. I have discussed this issue in the past and that is why I've added the signal reconstruction filter (a low pass filter, basically, a series of a 470 ohm resistor and a 4.7nF capacitor), but even then the noise is noticeable. I've found that the amplifier I'm using has...

Re: VS1053 - Noise when connected to a Class D amplifier

Hi Panu, I've already ordered a TPA2012 to test and see if anything changes, I'll let you know as soon as I have it. Pasi, the noise appears as soon as I have both (VS1053 and PAM8403) powered and connected. If I remove the audio connection between them the noise disappears, and if I add another sou...

VS1053 - Noise when connected to a Class D amplifier

Hi, I'm using a class D amp (PAM8403) connected to the VS1053 L and R outputs using the 'signal reconstruction circuit' suggested (470 ohm in series with a 4n7 cap). I have the GBUF output floating. The PAM8403 breakout board that I'm using has a resistor divider in the input (10k/10k) and a blockin...

Re: VS1053 recording example

Hi Henrik I was checking the VorbisEncoder170v.pdf and noticed that it is mandatory to initialize the SCI_AICTRL0 register, but I am not doing it in my code (it isn't done also in the vs1053oggrec.c example code). Is it necessary to write to SCI_AICTRL0 only if I want to use the VU functionality? If...

Re: VS1053 recording example

Hi Henrik Thanks you very much for your reply. My DREQ test function initially didn't had a timeout and the code still run to the end, so the DREQ seems to appear normally, I just introduced the timeout in this last version. I will try to read the registers you mentioned (SCI_AICTRL0 (0) and SCI_AIC...

Re: VS1053 recording example

I'm posting here the code that I'm currently testing and getting no data as I described in my previous post. In order to be easier to understand I removed the use of include files and libraries, putting all the code in a single file. I'm using Arduino and the ESP8266 MCU. I have the same hardware se...

Re: VS1053 recording example

Hi, I was trying to record the mic signal using a VS1053 board and the ogg encoder, and I have used the code from this post and also the Adafruit sample code. After activating recording (writing 0x34 to SCI_AIADDR) I keep getting that the number of words waiting is zero (reading SCI_HDAT1 register)....

Re: Microcontroller examples for VS1063, VS1053, VS1003, VS1

Hi, I have the VS1053 working with the ESP8266 MCU to play web radio streams. This is my first project with this chip. It works great, but from time to time the sound changes, and stays very high and with a high level of distortion. I'm only sending the stream to the VS1053 chip, not commands, I jus...
