Re: USB Flash Drive not showing on PC

Thanks for that bit of information,

I'm currently more interested in the functionality than the actual speed rating, so it's a compromise I'm willing to make in this case.

Re: USB Flash Drive not showing on PC

Alright, so I went back and tested it again on my desktop and was able to successfully see the drive all the time. It seemed to work in any unspecified configuration or my configuration to load USBHOST and then call VoMassStorage(). I tried it again on my laptop and it seems in most cases it doesn't...

Re: USB Flash Drive not showing on PC

Do you mean connect both the PC and a USB flash memory to VS1005 at the same time? That cannot be done, because the VS1005 only has a single USB OTG port. Yes, I used the miniUSB port and had the flash drive plugged in and was able to get the flash drive to show on my computer. It was my desktop th...

Re: USB Flash Drive not showing on PC

Thanks for the swift response. Just to clarify, you are saying that is is not recommended to try to get the flash drive to pull up as a file system to read/write to through the VS1005 and it should be plugged in directly to the computer if I want to modify it? It seemed to work quite well when I got...

USB Flash Drive not showing on PC

Good day all, I remember doing this before but now I don't seem able to get my USB flash drive to show as a mass storage device on a PC using my breakout board. I connect IOVDD to GPIO0_0 and GPIO0_1 so that the kernel knows to load configuration 5, which includes a call to USBHOST F so that the USB...

fopen() append mode?

Good day, I saw that a few years back there was a discussion about appending to files not being supported. I was wondering if support has been implemented for that feature? From what I can see, using the "a" notation does not work correctly. Otherwise, I will just apply the copy and re-write method ...

Re: Using Analog pin for battery voltage detection

So it appears that the IOVDD voltage value is actually 2.5V for some reason. So, it looks like this is running perfectly fine. That was my mistake, as I assumed it would be 3.3V read back. While I'm mentioning it though, what is the easiest way to adjust the voltage value of IOVDD so that it will ac...

How to properly retrieve an MP3 file's metadata

Good day, I am trying to get the metadata from a file as a variable and use it in varying ways. I see that there is a metadata driver already designed and I have called it to get whatever metadata is available to print out using: RunLibraryFunction("METADATA",ENTRY_2,(int)fp); I see that ENTRY_2 sim...

Using HiResRec or Rec within my driver

Good day, As the title explains, I would like to record audio within my driver. Essentially, when a GPIO pin is read as high, it will check for a file corresponding to the button. If the file does not exist, it will prompt the user to start a recording and save the file to associate it with that but...

Re: Using Analog pin for battery voltage detection

Thanks again for the information. I may stick to the first approach rather than use the Cyclic command. Quick testing gives me unexpected results. When I run a modified version of the provided code, I have an RCAP and AUX value of 438. Since they are both 438, the voltage reported ends up being 1.66...
