Making the VS1000 bootloader file for SPI flash

I am using VS1000 from Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board - WAV/OGG Trigger with 2MB Flash to develop the firmware reference to VS1000 Audio Module - VSIDE (VS1000AudioModule-072b-VSIDE). I can promming based on the solution from VS1000 audio module without problem. Now I want to promming back the origin...

Re: Choosing between vs1000 and vs1053

Thanks for your speedy reply. For this project I would suggest using a VS1010 for the ease of software development. If the VS1000 module is ok for your purpose without any software or other modifictions, then you can use VS1000. Software modifications for the VS1000 are extremely difficult. I will t...

Choosing between vs1000 and vs1053

My project is developing a SPI flash short time audio playing (20s to 1mins for each music) with mono 0.5W 8ohm speaker. I am looking for VS1000 and VS1053 for this project. Here are the questions: 1. For VS1000 and VS1053, which chip play music with lower power consumption? I want to use IO port to...

Re: Starting with VS1000

Hi Panu,

Thanks for your suggestions!
I plan to reference to the VS1000 module circuit and design my custom board.
If I got a blank VS1000 chip on my custom board, how can I write the firmware into it? what kind of hardware I need?
Thanks!

Re: Starting with VS1000

Hi Panu, Sorry for late reply. I am busy with other projects in last two months, I think it is good time I get back to my audio project again. :) My original project only needs about 4Mb to 8Mb for storing the mp3 (now maybe OGG). The number of play files are not more than 10 files at this stage. I ...

Re: Starting with VS1000

Hi Panu! Thanks for your quick reply! I did read the datasheet for VS1010 after your detail introduction. It seems VS1010 has more convenience to use because there is an operating system. I checked the sourcing, price, volume and consider the development time from VS1010/VS1000 for my system, I choo...

Starting with VS1000

I bought a Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board, then I know VLSI got some good audio decoding chips! I plan to use VS1000 to develop audio part of my project in my custom PCB. After reading datasheet and application notes, I have the following questions for my development: 1. Does the firmware already inc...
