Re: VS1053 Multi decode?

Thanks both of you for your replies. What I'm trying to do is play four independent MP3's on four independent output channels. Obviously, I could just have one microcontroller feed four decoders which feed either my multi-out DAC or directly out using the line-out but I was trying to consolidate as ...

VS1053 Multi decode?

I'm designing an audio system right now that will use a multi-output DAC for several audio outputs. I'm going to control the system using an 32bit ARM microcontroller. I was wondering if it would be possible use the microcontroller to send (over SPI) the VS1053 a portion of MP3 data (SDIO uSD card o...

Re: Static Noise over the track sound

I think I need to transistor because A2 is an output on my microcontroller.

I'm still flabbergasted as to where the static is coming from.

Re: Static Noise over the track sound

Okay, I unsoldered resistors R12,R13,R14,R15 and soldered wires to the output of the LEFT and RIGHT channels and two wires to the headphone/line-out connector and connected those to my breadboard with the following circuit. Still no change in the output. The static remains. Please help me with this ...

Re: Static Noise over the track sound

No change with the RCAP set at 1uF. I soldered a 40 gauge wire to the RCAP (pin 44) to the capacitor (ceramic 1206) then a 24 gauge wire from the cap to AGND. Also, I'm going to try to rebuild the output filters like in the diagram you linked to. I don't have some of the smaller capacitors and the l...

Re: Static Noise over the track sound

For my testing here, I'm connecting it directly to headphones but in normal operation, I connect it to an amplifier. Would the RCAP be whats causing the static? Also, my filter caps are 1206 ceramic, should they be a polarized capacitor? I notice on the MDFly break out boards and the board shown her...

Re: Static Noise over the track sound

I guess I don't have one. What does RCAP do? I thought it was only used for line in and mic.

Static Noise over the track sound

So, I ordered my first set of boards and didn't have any performance issues with them once I got the code sorted out. Then, I ordered a second set of boards using a different sd card slot and changed some capacitors from 0603 to 1206 and have been having a sound issue. Board layout is the exact same...

Re: List of Parts Distributors in US for VS1053?

It's weird because Digikey sells your development board but not the chip itself and honestly, buying direct from you guys gets me in dollar to euro conversions as well as shipping I'm sure. I wish you all would push this more but for now I'll continue to buy up Sparkfun and MDFly's parts. Thanks for...

List of Parts Distributors in US for VS1053?

Hi, I've got my design ready for the next phase of development but I'm having trouble finding any good distributors for the VS1053 (like digikey, mouser, allied). I've found the part at Sparkfun and MDFLY but I wouldn't really consider them as a full fledged distributor. Can you direct me to some li...
