Re: VS1053+WAV PCM RECORDER: no amplification

Hello Henrik

Thanks for clearing information about the software gain in the plugin.
Now I am sure there is no bug in my firmware :)

Re: VS1053+WAV PCM RECORDER: no amplification

SJS your picture is incorrect.
If you want to use LINE input mic amplifier will not be used.
So that route should look like this.

Re: VS1053+WAV PCM RECORDER: no amplification

Hello, I have checked my firmware and found a strange thing. The gain setting works fine when recording at 8 kHz without plugin. Using standard firmware. Gain settings with plugin (48kHz) has no effect. I have checked the value of the SCI_AICTRL1 in the main cycle where i read fifo. Before recording...

Re: VS1053+WAV PCM RECORDER: no amplification

Thanks I will recheck everything again. I have one board where everything is ok with mic with old firmware. And a new hardware with new firmware where there is no gain. When mic is selected, there is a fixed 26dB amplifier in the hardware, and AGC/gain control in software. How digital gain on the ad...

Re: VS1053+WAV PCM RECORDER: no amplification

It is active when line input is not selected.
And when line input is selected the amplifier is not active.
And gain settings has no effect when line input is selected.

Am i correct?

Re: VS1053+WAV PCM RECORDER: no amplification

HEllo Thanks for help I have checked my registry setup. It is written as stated in the manual for the plugin. Yes I am clearing SM_LINE when recording from mic. Also I am loading plugin_48k_l. Plugin for the left channel. I found it experimentally, 48k_r for right does not work. Is that correct? I a...

VS1053+WAV PCM RECORDER: no amplification

Hi again, I have switched to VS1053B/VS1063A WAV PCM RECORDER as it allows larger buffer. I can record the sound from microphone and from line. Everything looks fine except that i can't control gain. Whatever i write to register SCI_AICTRL1 the result is the same. I checked with the sine wave passed...

Re: VS1053:How recording FIFO works?

Thanks a lot for reply.
I was thinking that FIFO must be implemented in the way as you described.

VS1053:How recording FIFO works?

HEllo, I am using vs1053 to record sound. I would like to reveal some details about recording FIFO. At one side of fifo vs1053 stores recording data. At the other side i am reading the data. REG_HDAT1 tells the size of the data in fifo. Imagine situation when we have 10 bytes at the end of fifo. Whe...

vs1053:recording from LiNE1:weak signal

Hi All, I am using vs1053b. It works fine when playing the music and recording from electret microphone. I am trying to record from LINE1. I have a piezo module with it's own amplifier (LM386). When I connect headphones to my module I hear that signal is very good. Then I connect output of my module...
