Dear VS1005 developers,

We have updated the VSIDE. The new VSIDE version is 2.46 and it contains the headers and libraries necessary to compile VSOS version 3.57.

Please download and install the new version from here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=298&p=12683#p12683

VSIDE 2.46

Dear VSDSP Developers, Here is a new version of VSIDE, version 2.46. It has been updated quite a lot. It contains updated C standard library and C standard header files for all devices (VS1000, VS1010, VS1011, VS1003, VS1103, VS1053, VS1063 and VS1005). This should only be a positive change, e.g. im...

Re: Genuine IC from aliexpress

Hi! You know the old saying... if something is too good to be true, then it's not true... :) The prices are in Chinese Yuan Renminbi. I took a look, and for example they sell VS1103 for RMB 12,50 which is EUR 1.65 today. Our webshop price for 1K quantity is EUR 1.59. It's just those companies style ...

Re: VS1003 + TPA3128D2 (Class D)

Hi! Wouldn't it be easier to adjust the gain of the TPA3128? You can adjust the gain from 20 to 36 dB with resistors connected to the GAIN/SLV pin of that amplifier. The difference of 330 mVpp to 260 mVpp is about 2.1 decibels, so you could just increase your gain by 2 dB to get the same effect. -Panu

Re: Genuine IC from aliexpress

10pcs-lot.jpg This picture is an image manipulation, so it's not possible to say anything about whether the chip(s) they claim to sell are real or not. But the picture is not real, it's edited from an old picture. Other websites have used the same image as basis. The lot ID matches VS1011E produced...

Re: MP3Model/MP3 Codec file seeking behaviour

Hi! I think It happens because MP3 is a streaming format, e.g. it doesn't have any notion of sample counting. MP3 was originally designed for satellite radio broadcasting, not for a file format so the file doesn't have any sample counters or index. When the codec seeks to a position, it needs to dec...

Re: VS1005 RTC Frequency tolerance

Hmm, I once did a tariffe clock design for an electricity metering company. You know, tariffe clocks have a very strict requirement for timekeeping accuracy. There I used the electric grid for the accuracy - the number of 50 Hz cycles per day is maintained by atomic clock each day: the Nordic Grid c...

Re: VS1005 RTC Frequency tolerance

Hi! Ha! What an intriguing question! But out of your choices, #1 is closer to the truth. The RTC oscillator itself has a wide operating range, but the 100 ppm requirement for the crystal is just to get meaningful results when interpreting the frequency as a basis for calculating either time or lengt...

Re: A few VS23S040 questions

Ok, that's good. Hmm, you mentioned resistor values in your earlier mail. The thing to twist one's head around is that the DAC output of the VS23S0x0 is current mode output. It outputs a constant amount of milliamperes at a constant value of the DAC, not a constant voltage. The current is converted ...

Re: A few VS23S040 questions

Right, one more addition, there is a command "Write Multi-IC Control Register" in the VS23S010 die (the VS23S040, at least at the moment is a multi-die package containing four separate VS23S010 dies) that allows you to separately select which VS23S010s inside the VS23S040 you are controlling. This w...
