Re: VS23S010 and VGA monitor

Ok, hmm, what is your most immediate problem? Wrong number of lines?

BTW, HSYNC width must be in colorclocks since that's the protoline pixel frequency.

Re: User friendly USB mass storage for VS1010D

Here's another version, optimized for use with SPI flash and software development. This one checks sdSize to see if SD card is found or not. If not, then it automatically shows the SPI flash in the USB, instead of what parameter the user has given. One other good feature is that if you send 's' (low...

Re: VS23S010 and VGA monitor

Hi, Wolfgang! Just one check, do you do the syncs using the digital output pins (shared with 8 bit bus) like in my first VGA demo? You know, with something like: // Use GP pins to set HSYNC start SpiRamWriteWord(PROTOLINE_WORD_ADDRESS(0), 0x8160); //GP0=1(VSYNC), GP1=0(HSYNC) // Use GP pins to set H...

User friendly USB mass storage for VS1010D

Hi all! Here's a nice little VS1010D program for running USB mass storage from the command line or from inside your program. - Shows VS1010D's SD card or SPI flash to the PC using USB port. - Does not call reboot. - System state is not lost during USB operation. - Uses only 300 words of code memory ...

Re: VS23S010 and VGA monitor

Hi! Thanks for the thumbs up! And hey, great that your things are proceeding! I'd be very very happy to see any screenshots/oscilloscope traces from you! PS: But why did you folks put the VS23S040 in a BGA package? It will be so hard to solder by hand. Three reasons, last of which should get you lau...

Re: VS23S010 and VGA monitor

Hi! Well, numbers in datasheets change as times go by and new test programs and qualifications are made.. I'm not sure what the numbers on the datasheet were when I did this early test. I know that at some point the crystal oscillator in the VS23S010 had a problem around 6..7 MHz where it wouldn't o...

Re: VS1010D Virtual Memory, AAC, WMA and OGG Decoders

I think I have an idea of what might happening at your end. Here's the theory: You are running the bootx s:boot.x step from config.txt. Now, config.txt file is open. Then the system is out of buffers when it tries to load the next program. This way I got somewhat similar error message. I fixed this ...

Re: VS1010D Virtual Memory, AAC, WMA and OGG Decoders

Hmm, it looks like you're running your own code and, hmm, could it be that you really are out of buffers? There can only be one file open with the cache system running. Do you fclose all files that you open as soon as possible? Is it similar if you don't name your program as usercode.dlx, and run it...

Re: VS1010D Virtual Memory, AAC, WMA and OGG Decoders

Hi! Here's a 2nd version of the page fault handler / cache environment program (boot.x). This one sets the heap more correctly than the last one and allows loading user programs that play files using the cache. Additionally, it tries to run the program USERCODE.DLX after loading, so if you have a cu...
