Re: VS1053b:Mic Recording:Convert sampled data back to mV

Hi! I am adding a bit to what Hannu wrote. I would like to clear some moments. If AICTRL1 = 0 that autogain is enabled and AICTRL2 value is used as a maximum gain. If AICTRL = 1x (1024) then autogain is disabled and value of AICTRL2 is not important. Am i correct? Yes, set SCI_AICTRL1 = 1024, and yo...

Re: VS1053b:Mic Recording:Convert sampled data back to mV

Hello! I am recording the sound using MIC NP inputs and everything is fine. I am using PCM mode for recording. I want to recalculate the samples back to millivolts. There are two unknown parameters. 1. Auto gain: As i see from datasheet it is always enabled. How does it works and it there any way to...

Re: question about audio frame format of vs1063

Hello Wayne! Just one thing to add... After the initial Skipping Warning, all other warnings are of the same amount: @0x0006d4 = 0x302e5653 (0.79s): WARNING: NOT MP1 / MP2 / MP3 WARNING: Skipped 0x20 bytes @0x0008a4 = 0x656e6320 (1.01s): WARNING: NOT MP1 / MP2 / MP3 WARNING: Skipped 0x20 bytes @0x00...

Re: question about audio frame format of vs1063

Hello Wayne! I found a strange question. The frame header of MP3 indicats the frame size is 144 bytes. but the actual size is bigger than that. for example, a mp3frame begin from the offset of 0x644, but the next frame is begin from 0x6f4. Could you please help to parse the attached files, why did t...

Re: EQ Plugin for Analog Input?

Hi! Many thanks for that! Then it's surprising to me that the plug-in offers twice as many filters (40). I guess it's because there's no ADC's eating up the processor. The reason for the lower number of filters in the VS1053b / VS1063a Equalizer is the higher quality of the filters. With the EQ app...

Re: Load Plugin from Flash?

Ok, can I load the patches and plug-in to the VS using a uC, define filters,, I burn the resulting image to flash, and then boot from the flash? Or would i still need an MCU to load that image into the VS on boot? Could I borrow the boot sector of the EQ application (without the EQ application, jus...

Re: Load Plugin from Flash?

Hello! Can a plugin get loaded via SPI flash? For example, can i load the plugin to the VS chip in the normal way (via uC or computer), as described in the docs. http://www.vlsi.fi/fileadmin/software/VS10XX/vs1053b-peq.pdf void WriteVS10xxRegister(unsigned short addr, unsigned short value); void Loa...

Re: Does EQ use User RAM?

Hello! The VS1053b datasheet says there's 0.5+ KiB data RAM for user applications. When using the standalone EQ application, or the EQ plugin. is the user RAM still available? When running a VS10xx application, you should basically consider all memory used. However, out of interest, is there a speci...

Re: EQ Plugin for Analog Input?

Hello! Can the EQ plugin process analog audio input? Or only digital input? http://www.vlsi.fi/fileadmin/software/VS10XX/vs1053b-peq.pdf This EQ Plugin is primarily intended for adjusting the output of digital audio files. Because it has to coexist with all the decoders, it has been written with CPU...
