INITNAND gets stuck

Hello there. Please help, this is so frustrating. I connected NAND module S34ML04G200TFI000 (http://www.cypress.com/file/218306/download) to the breakout board, according to the datasheets and to the dev board schematics. Removed all the other devices, other than UART. Pulled up NAND CE, because dat...

Re: Flash memory and drivers

Sorry for stupid questions, I found a thread about this driver saying it indeed supports the Spansion chip. Don't know why I overlooked it before.

Re: Flash memory and drivers

Panu, thank you for the answer Basically in the device we are building we want to have a non-removeable on-board storage, ideally about 1Gb of it, but I guess we can squeeze into 256 Mb. It will contain small audiofiles (things like help files, hints, etc), in multiple languages. Mosty read-only (th...

Flash memory and drivers

Hi there. It would be nice to have a summary of options that we have when designing our boards. For our board we need at least 128 Mb (but better 1 Gb or so) of on-board storage. What are our options? 1) In the Kernel there's devSpiFlash.c file which supports "SPI Flash block devices which have 24-b...

Re: SD card in SPI mode

However, this does not seem to be working. Driver reports "SD Card not found". As far as I understand, SD card itself when inserted should be pulling up its CS/DAT3 leg. On my SD module it does not. I guess that after all this module can only be used in SPI mode. It's "SPI micro SD storage module fo...

Re: SD card in SPI mode

Thank you, Panu, I understand. On the other hand, I've just read about SD cards, and it seems to me that I was mistaken. Even though my module is marked with SPI pin names, it should still work in (1-bit) SD mode. So, according to SD and VS1005 schematics, - MISO is the same pin as DAT0 (and goes to...

SD card in SPI mode

Hi everyone I have a micro-SD adapter working in SPI mode. Is there a driver for this, or should I forget it and buy proper SD adapters? I want to use it to store small audio-files. In this thread http://www.vsdsp-forum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1615&p=9443&hilit=sd+spi+mosi#p9443 Panu mentione...

Re: Stuck with UART

For anyone interested - VLSI cable works like a charm. If you are getting FTDI instead, make sure it's logic-level, not RS-232-level.
