Using USB on VS1005 breakout board

Post by YuryShatz » Sun 2016-11-06 12:16

Hello there

I bought VS1005 breakout board to develop my product. I am new to this, but I wrote some working code that plays music and reacts to the buttons, I know how to copy it to the board, etc.

If I insert a USB thumb, and connect my board to PC in slave mode, I can see the contents of this USB thumb on my PC. However, I do not see it as a mounted file system on the board itself.

What is the driver I should load and how? I tried to LoadLibraryP("usbhost", "D") but it seems to freeze my program.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

If you have a look on the schematics of the break out board http://www.vlsi.fi/fileadmin/evaluation ... 11-sch.pdf
you can see it has two USB connected together. So the thumb drive is connected to your PC by straight leads and the VS1005 just hangs on the bus.

You have to remove the PC from the bus. Also try some other disk letter. D is usually the SD card.

Thank you Hanu! It is so simple. I'll try that (as soon as I return to this project)
