audio compressor/limiter

Hi All,

Audio files/tracks are played sometimes louder/quieter. This, of course, is a question of recording.
Have you something for standardization the output signal and playing tracs with near the same volume?
A kind of Automatic Gain Control or audio compressor/limiter but digital. V1010 is a powerfull DSP!

best regards

Hi!

Of course, we support ReplayGain.

We also have compressor/limiter, but that is completely unrelated to the matter.

Please google ReplayGain, and see the wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReplayGain

Hmm, mmm, ReplayGain might not be in VS1010 ROM. I could check how to load it into VS1010, for example from the SD card patch (boot.dlx).. would that be ok?

Hi Panu,

Thank you. ReplayGain looks perfectly. Of course with boot.dlx is OK.

But... another interesting point for my application is compressor/limiter.
Now I use limiter input in audio amplifier. With soft-solution I can save something.
Where can I find more information about it?

Hi!

Can you explain what kind of compressor/limiter you need. What are the parameter values? What is the application of the compressor/limiter? Can you give a web link to a device that basically does what you need?

Hello,

My audio amplifier is TPA3111 from TI.
http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tpa3111d1.pdf
s. page 12, PLIMIT.

I think about something like PLIMIT.
Perhaps not directly cut off everything over max amplitude but rather smoothly.

Ok, understand, you want soft knee limiter. I'll ask Henrik when he gets back to the office next week.
