VS1010 Minidemo USB Host mode Question

Hi - I am interested in using the VS1010 demo boards - but before I purchase, I was wondering if it is possible to use the VS1010 Minidemo board in USB host mode?

After looking at the circuit diagrams, it seems I could just supply power separately, and reverse the data lines on a female USB A cable.

My goal is to play audio from a USB stick - if it is impossible with the Minidemo, then I will look at the main Demo board (But would prefer the Minidemo, as the main board is expensive and I am just a student :D )

Sure, I think it should work.. you'll need the USB host driver (USBPROBE+USBHRD) from

Give a good amount of power to the USB stick! Tell us how it goes!

No don't or you have to chop another cable. USB has always VBUS, D-, D+ and GND order of signals in 4 or 5 pin connector. Otherwise the host mode should work.
