Uploading code to VSMD021 module

Post by ibhelmer »

Hi
I have connected my VSMD021V070 with my PC truth a USB2Serial converter (3.3v output level), when I monitor the port with PUTTY I get the message SD back if I remove the SD Card I get the message “Fat?” back, so the serial connection seems to work, but when I try to use VSIDE to program the module I get a message that "Unable to autodetect hardware!". What am I doing wrong?
best regards

The firmware in the VSMD021 is using the UART for its own communication. It can not be simultaneously used for VSIDE.

To reprogram the module you need to ground XCS, then power up the module. This prevents the firmware from being loaded from the SPI FLASH.

You then remove the grounding, and run the VSIDE programmer.
