Q:Problem about using vs1003b

Post by jasonzou »

Using arm7 as mcu.
VS1003B as CODEC device.
Check VS1003B voltage pins , it was all well.
Set vs1003b cs pin as 3.3v, set rst pin as 0v.
Using crystal osc as clock.(Pin17 and Pin18 as clk input/output).
I can not trigger clock in Pin17/Pin18 by my scope.
Try more vs1003b chips, clk can not be found.

Thk for your favor!

The xreset pin is active low, and the crystal oscillator is powered down during reset, so that is why you don't see clock.

Bring xreset high and check if you see clock then. Then see if RCAP, GBUF, LEFT, and RIGHT rise to about 1.2V.

A 1M resistor crossing 2 clock pin can not be igored?
why?

The 1M resistor will bias the oscillator (help it start).

Please confirm that XRESET is high (connect XRESET to IOVDD). Please check that every pin AVDD, IOVDD, CVDD at good voltage (2.7V or see specification in datasheet). Then you can see oscillation in XTALO.
