Hello, I want to apologize if I repeat a question already asked but I searched and I couldn't find if it had already been asked. This is the first time that I write here and, again, sorry if this is not a right section. About EOL VS1011. Our player production is based on the VS1011 E-L/S so it is a problem to redesign the entire product line. Is VLSI Solution already outsoucing the construction of the chip to another foundry or will it let this excellent chip die?
Thanks

VS1011 new foundry?
Re: VS1011 new foundry?
We have not found a (relatively) compatible process in the foundries available to us to keep vs1011e in production. Porting to a different process would not create a drop-in replacement device due to voltage differences (and because vs1011e only uses two voltage supplies).
If you're using the LQFP-48 package, in the best/most fortunate case migrating to vs1003 requires adding one regulator (for CVDD) and no firmware changes. You might even test with one of your current boards by deriving CVDD from DVDD using a diode.

Re: VS1011 new foundry?
Hi, mine was obviously a mere hope. I know, like those who work in this field, how much effort must be made to bring any project up to speed with the competition that is pressing. And how much money. Thanks for your suggestions.
