VS1005 Rom behavior (USB Audio)

I am wondering about the default rom behavior on the VS1005. The datasheet indicates that there is a USB Audio mode if GPIO0_6 has a pull up resistor during boot. It looks like I have to remove the kernel to access this mode though. I tried just removing all the files from the internal flash of the breakout board v2. It seem like I need to erase the internal flash but that is not an option for the prommer interface through VSIDES.
I have also found it very helpful on the VS1010 to have the basic source code for that rom. I can't seem to find the same thing for the VS1005
