adsr modulation

Post by gibrancurtiss »

Hi ,

This is my first attempt to create something around VS1053.

It is a CV/trigger controled unit by arduino.

I´d like to modulate the midi instrument with my coded ADSR.
I know that it is a very basic question , but should I apply my adsr on Volume or Expression midi message?

Thank you very much.

The note volume consists of channel's combined volume and the note's velocity, in addition to the instrument's inherent waveform and scaling.

The channel's combined volume consists of channel volume, channel expression, and master volume. (There is also a compander, which limits the volume if there are too many notes and there is a danger of clipping.)

Channel volume and channel expression affect the volume in the same way, so use whichever is more convenient.
